Welcome to the web site of the Department of Computer Science at Rutgers University, Camden. The department was founded in 1996 and belongs to the Camden College of Arts and Sciences. The department currently offers two undergraduate degree programs and a graduate M.S. program in computer science.
Our undergraduate programs follow a comprehensive curriculum based on curricular recommendations by ACM and IEEE, the two premier professional societies for computing professionals. New students entering the department from Fall 2010 onwards will automatically be enrolled in the 2010-2012 curriculum; majors who started earlier should consult the 2008-2010 programs (or earlier depending on their matriculation date) for requirements.
The faculty members in the department are committed to very high standards in teaching excellence. Our department also values student research. The faculty are very actively involved in research in many exciting areas within computer science. Several members have current or recently-funded research grants and awards; please contact individual faculty members if you are interested in working with them on their respective projects.
